Are you a systems thinker with exceptional organizational skills? The Economic Investment Services (EIS) Branch is seeking a highly motivated Strategic Coordinator to provide key advisory and operational support to the Branch Manager. In this role, you will work independently while collaborating closely with Branch Directors and senior leadership. You will be instrumental in managing information flow, addressing strategic issues, and ensuring the efficient operation of the Branch Manager's Office.

What will you do?

  • Provide professional support and briefings to the Branch Manager on current and emerging strategic economic issues
  • Assess, prioritize, and research issues with Branch implications, resolving matters and escalating when necessary
  • Monitor economic, cultural, and organizational changes impacting the Branch and prepare the Branch Manager accordingly
  • Represent the Branch at meetings and events, reporting back on issues and outcomes
  • Ensure integration and coordination of economic development policy with other Branches and external agencies
  • Manage issues and problem-solving to advance initiatives on behalf of the Branch
  • Provide guidance to senior leaders on appropriate responses to issues and inquiries, and assist Branch sections in issue resolution
  • Prepare briefing materials for senior leadership, coordinating with Communications for accurate messaging
  • Build and maintain relationships with government and industry contacts to enhance knowledge networks
  • Manage and advise on the process and content for Council Reports, memos, briefing notes, and presentations, providing direction and quality control
  • Coordinate and develop EIS content for the Urban Planning and Economy Business Plan, performance reporting, and annual reporting
  • Represent EIS on Department business continuity activities, develop and communicate the EIS business continuity plan, and implement as needed
