Reporting to the General Supervisor of Development Approvals, The Residential Development Approvals Program Manager will oversee the review and decision-making process for a variety of development permit applications. You will provide expert guidance to your team, resolve complex issues, and build strong relationships with stakeholders. Your leadership will contribute to the efficient and consistent delivery of development approvals in Edmonton.  

What Will You Do?

• Supervise and mentor a team of Planners and Planning Technicians
• Oversee the review of development permit applications for compliance with regulations
• Resolve complex issues and provide guidance to staff and stakeholders
• Contribute to process improvements and policy development
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including City departments, developers, and the public
• Facilitate and/or participate in meetings with industry organizations and provide education sessions when required
• Represent the Development Approvals Team and the Development Approvals and Inspections Section on various cross-department or interagency project committees or teams and at public meetings and other forums as required
• Ensure procedures, policies, training modules and business systems are up to date as the Zoning Bylaw, policies and procedures are amended
• Develop standard operating procedures/programs to support staff, consistency of decisions and requirements of service delivery needs
