The Community Standards Peace Officer Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a team of Community Standards Peace Officer Units, ensuring the safety and security of Edmontonians, employees, and City assets. This role requires a leader with exceptional communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in law enforcement, strategic planning, and stakeholder management.
What will you do?
- Provide leadership and coordinate the services of an Operational Community Standards Unit by overseeing the delivery of uniformed Community Peace Officer enforcement services
- Lead and supervise a team of Community Peace Officers; this includes hiring, training, coaching, mentoring and monitoring staff performance
- Oversee the enforcement of City bylaws and regulations, ensuring compliance and public safety
- Develop and implement operational strategies to address emerging trends and challenges in community safety
- Manage the unit's budget and resources effectively
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the Edmonton Police Service, to enhance community safety initiatives
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the unit
