The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has a dynamic position for an individual with a passion for nursing within a team – oriented environment to provide first aid response to employees in the Edmonton Police Service and to promote health and wellness. The nurse will be responsible for:
- Acting as a professional health/medical resource to the Executive Team, operational staff, and Human Resource professionals, including the Employee Assistance Team, Safety Consultant and Disability Management Consultants.
- Working directly with employees to promote health and wellness, for the prevention of illness and injury, to protect workers from workplace hazards and to ensure workers' capability and health are fitting for their job in the Service.
- Working with the Occupational Health & Safety Consultant to monitor, assess and consult on safety issues, including participating in Certificate of Recognition (CoR) Audits.
- Responsible for incident management in regards to infectious disease exposures which includes needle sticks and the documentation and administration of such incidents to public health and medical authorities.
- Coordinating and conducting immunization programs for EPS.
- Coordinating and conducting medical surveillance activities for identified employee groups.
- This position requires alternative weeks of on-call work.
