As the Junior Data Scientist  you will work as a core member of the Office of the City Auditor's team. Reporting to the Data Scientist, this position is expected to work collaboratively with various team members and project teams to apply data analytics to deliver more efficient and effective projects. 

What will you do?

• Use data analysis tools to automate audit testing and develop techniques for continuous auditing and analyzing large volumes of data
• Apply mathematical and statistical modeling approaches to support various projects 
• Develop predictive, statistical, behavioral or other models via supervised and unsupervised machine learning, statistical analysis, and other predictive modeling techniques
• Propose, design and analyze new algorithms
• Perform hands-on data exploration and modeling over big data technologies to solve business problems
• Organize large amounts of data and develop models that identify trends and cause-effect relationships, and lead to recommendations
• Devise scalable analytical solutions and tools that result in measurable improvements to business operations and iterate on existing analytical solutions to continually improve performance
• Research and evaluate new analytical methodologies, approaches, and solutions 
• Represent the Office at stakeholder meetings and presentations 
• Other related duties as assigned
