Are you an Early Literacy Programming Ninja?
Edmonton Public Library is looking for an experienced, fun, agile, highly motivated early literacy programming expert to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Library Assistant with a passion for early literacy programming who enjoys variety in their work week.
About the Mobile SSLL:
The Mobile SSLL is staffed by a team of Library Assistants who will deliver Sing, Sign, Laugh and Learn (SSLL) early literacy programs at various branches and in the community. The Mobile SSLL service delivery model introduces early literacy programming to more families, particularly those experiencing barriers to accessing SSLL; support branches in quickly increasing their in-branch SSLL offerings; and assist branches in building staff capacity for leading SSLL. Mobile SSLL Library Assistants are based out of a home branch location and are scheduled to deliver SSLL at various locations in the community (sometimes more than one per day) according to a six week set schedule. Mobile SSLL Library Assistants will be supported by their assigned Branch leadership team and the Manager of Youth Services.
What we're looking for:
At EPL our mission is simple: we share! Our Library Assistants are versatile and friendly people who want to make a difference in the community. They are our early literacy customer service ambassadors introducing and delivering SSLL and connecting families to the other early literacy resources they need. They work out of branches throughout Edmonton and are active in the community and visit schools, daycares, and other organizations.
