We are currently in a position to grow our team through the addition of an Engineering Project Manager.
The LRT Expansion & Renewal Branch is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of LRT capital projects such as Metro Line, Valley Line and Capital Line. The Branch is guided by and aligned with Council's strategic goals, The City Plan, and numerous other Council approved policies and initiatives. The direction set by these strategic plans, priorities, and policies have culminated in a commitment to create a compact and more integrated urban environment, and establish an integrated mass transit network that connects people to destinations. In contribution to this vision, the LRT Expansion & Renewal Branch is currently overseeing approximately $6 billion in LRT expansion projects.
The Engineering Project Manager has the authority and competence to lead assigned scopes within the Valley Line project and assist the Engineering Program Manager in administering the Valley Line LRT Project Agreement. This includes overseeing the consultant team and contractor; representing the project and the City with external stakeholders and internal business partners; and the ability to make day-to-day operational decisions.
What will you do?
Administer the Valley Line West LRT Project Agreement and various consultant professional services agreements
Engage business partners to create and execute Scope Charters which includes engaging business partners in design reviews, facilitate comment resolution, ensure quality, and oversee commissioning
Manage the planning, design, construction, commissioning and handover of infrastructure projects, including operational/strategic initiatives, resource, and financial management
Review feasibility studies, functional programs, design reports, drawings, specifications, and operation/maintenance reports, providing comments on non-conformance from the Project Agreement
Review non-conformance reports and monitor the quality of deliverables and the contractor's implementation of the quality program
Assist with the technical review of contract changes and related documentation
Manage, monitor, and report project milestones through detailed plans and schedules, ensuring projects are on budget, on schedule, and within defined scope and quality
Perform activities related to thorough risk management for all projects
Develop and steward relationships that support project success
Manage the procurement and contract processes, including tender documents, review of proposals/bids, and making recommendations for acceptance
Direct and coordinate the work of consultants and contractors
Develop project-related reports for various leadership teams and Council
Perform warranty management and coordinate the resolution and correction of issues and deficiencies during the warranty phase
Perform other project management related duties as required
