We are looking for an individual with strong project management and relationship-building skills to help us to support non-residential investment and contribute to the economic and cultural reputation of our city.

Reporting to the Manager, Downtown Economy, you will be instrumental in implementing the Downtown Action Plan (DAP), specifically focusing on the economic and business growth goals outlined in the plan. This is a key role where you'll support investment and growth by leading strategic initiatives in business support, program administration, policy development, and research. You will work with a diverse range of collaborators, including businesses, investors, business associations, and property owners, to identify and implement creative solutions to complex issues. What will you do?

  • Lead and contribute to the implementation of the Downtown Action Plan in collaboration with community partners
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with domestic and international investors, corporate decision-makers, and industry leaders
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for investors, providing dedicated attention and addressing any concerns or challenges
  • Support the development and implementation of business focused, friendly initiatives and policies that support investment in Edmonton's downtown
  • Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations for City Council and Committees related to the Downtown Action Plan
  • Undertake research on best practices and policies from other jurisdictions to inform internal decision-making
  • Ensure a Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA ) lens is applied to all section strategies, policies, and research activities
