Description

The City of Edmonton's Community Standards Branch is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Data/Operations Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will work with a team of data professionals to enable efficient and effective operations by analysing, managing and reporting from multiple data sources. The role may also entail research, evaluation, GIS mapping, and other related functions that inform evidence-based decision-making. As a Data/Operations Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the Community Standards Branch. You will be responsible for acting as a subject matter expert on branch data, providing expertise and advice on data methodology/collection, and creating regular and ad hoc reports to support the Branch Leadership Team. Your work will also involve data and systems management, research and evaluation, and project support. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.

What will you do?

  • Provide direct analytical support to the Community Standards Branch
  • Develop, collect, analyze, evaluate and disseminate data, performance measurements, and key performance indicators
  • Develop performance reports with critical analysis of activities to support resource deployment and service improvements
  • Develop effective data collection and report mechanisms, including trend analysis, chronic offender identification, heat mapping, causation analysis, dashboards, etc.
  • Review and evaluate processes and procedures; provide recommendations; facilitate operational planning sessions
  • Collaborate to identify and develop process and procedure improvements, conduct gap analysis and provide recommendations
  • Develop community project evaluation tools and strategies
  • Conduct research and environmental scans to identify opportunities and trends
  • Conduct and analyze surveys
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other written materials
  • Other duties as assigned
