Description

The Crime and Trauma-Informed Support Services Unit (CTSS) is seeking a compassionate, self-motivated professional to fill the role of Sexual Assault Coordinator. This position provides specialized support, advocacy, and coordination for individuals affected by sexual violence. The role involves working closely with survivors, investigators, and community partners to ensure trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and culturally sensitive responses to sexual assault cases. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide trauma-informed support, crisis intervention, and resource referrals to victims of sexual violence.
  • Conduct client centered needs assessments, case conferences and ongoing support from referral through to file resolution in court.
  • Collaborate with CTSS Volunteer Advocates and EPS investigative units to deliver coordinated services.
  • Identify gaps in service and work with a diverse group of community members to develop and implement effective strategies to mitigate these gaps.
  • Work collaboratively with other EPS Units along with other CTSS Coordinators to ensure the community receives a high level of service.
  • Build and strengthen relationships to foster trust and enhance community awareness of victim supports and resources available at the municipal. Provincial and federal levels.
  • Prepare statistical reports, drafts/update policy, report on program outputs and other related duties as required.
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder partnerships and identify appropriate community resources relevant to the client's served.
  • Serve as a liaison between CTSS, the EPS, the Sexual Assault Section, community partners and other Law Enforcement Agencies.
