Description

We are looking for a Communications Advisor to join our team! In this role, you will be pivotal in driving the employee experience and organizational culture through internal and external communications.

This role works closely with the Employee and Legal Services division within the Office of the City Manager to support files related to employee culture, organizational development, internal EDI initiatives, payroll, talent acquisition and management, and respect in the workplace. In this role, you are responsible for creating communications plans and strategies, as well as planning and developing a wide range of material to communicate key employee initiatives to employees who work in the office and in the field.

What will you do?

  • Develop and implement internal and external communications strategies
  • Deliver ongoing communications support to projects that support the employee experience
  • Identify emerging projects and implement strategies to position employee initiatives effectively
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external audiences or vendors
  • Create, edit, review, coordinate and manage communications products, including: communications plans, content strategies, news releases, ads, web content, signage, fact sheets, briefing notes, social media posts, blog posts, stories, internal newsletters and reports, photos, videos, key messages, speaking notes, and briefing notes and other materials
  • Plan communications activities to effectively share information about the employee experience and organizational culture in a manner that enhances the City's reputation
  • Provide timely and responsive issues management, when needed
