
Description
The City of Edmonton is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assessment Review Board Officer to provide advanced case management and secretariat support to the Assessment Review Board (ARB), a quasi-judicial tribunal that renders binding decisions reviewable by the Court of Queen's Bench. In this role, you will work in a heavily regulated environment under tight and demanding timelines, ensuring that the ARB and its members adhere to applicable legislation and apply policies and procedures in accordance with natural justice and fairness to all parties. You will enable effective case management by attending hearings, identifying and resolving issues, providing procedural advice to members, facilitating decision meetings, and reviewing decisions to ensure they are legal and well-reasoned. Additionally, you will provide strategic advice, identify best practices, and contribute to the operations and administration of the Board through member training, project leadership, and research.

- Enable effective case management by attending hearings, identifying and resolving issues, giving procedural advice to the members, facilitating decision meetings as required, and reviewing decisions to ensure that they are legal and well reasoned
- Support the operations and administration of the Board by providing strategic advice, identifying best practices in administrative law and enhancements to the policies and procedures
- Plan and deliver member training, lead projects, and conduct research as required
