GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the administrative direction of the Director of Juvenile Services, performs high-level responsible supervisory work assisting the Director in accomplishing the goals of the Department of Juvenile Services for East Baton Rouge Parish. Work involves responsibility for assisting the Director in managing all divisions, making recommendations concerning the operations of various activities, conferring with parish law enforcement leaders or other public officials concerning juveniles and related problems, and performing other administrative duties as needed. The employee of this class assists the Director in supervising a large staff of professionals and other personnel through subordinate supervisors. Work is of an independent nature and is reviewed through conferences and results obtained. Performs other work as requested.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in public administration, criminal justice, or a related field, and three years of supervisory experience in juvenile detention, probation, or other at-risk juvenile organizations.

SUBSTITUTIONS
Related higher education may substitute for the Master's degree and work experience.
