WEALTH STRATEGIST CNR WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Wealth Strategist position is part of CNR's Private Wealth Solutions (PWS) team, and is responsible for expanding CNR's relationships with its financial advisors, high and/or ultra-high net-worth (H/UHNW**) clients and prospective clients. Helps to attract new prospective clients to CNR by partnering with field business development officers. Initially support Senior Wealth Strategists throughout the planning process, with the ultimate goal of independently working on engagements. Collaborate with the PWS team in development of H/UHNW client facing materials in the areas of Estates and Trusts, Income Taxation, Philanthropy, and Asset Protection, and Investments, with an emphasis on business owner wealth and succession planning.

What you will do
  • Work with Senior Wealth Strategist and Wealth Strategist in developing integrated estate and financial plans for H/UHNW clients through partnering with colleagues, financial advisors, and COIs. In collaboration with the Senior Wealth Strategists and Wealth Strategists, analyze, understand, and identify gaps in client's current situation, and educate clients on various strategies that may help meet their overall goals.
  • Partner with the PWS team to develop simplified explanations of sophisticated wealth planning strategies in areas of interest to UHNW clients.
  • Collaborate and engage in peer review of client-facing custom designed deliverables from other members of the PWS team.
  • Participate in and, eventually, lead client meetings and work within a team environment to deliver integrated planning solutions to clients.
  • Participate in the materials preparation for sponsored events regarding wealth planning information and issues that are relevant and compelling for that particular audience.
  • Collaborate with marketing and training to prepare written and oral presentations to support educational programs for colleagues, clients and prospective clients.
  • Engage in public speaking events (both in-person and virtual) to educate prospective clients, financial advisors, and COIs on the various planning topics and services offered by CNR
  • Write articles and create marketing materials on timely topics of wealth planning that can be distributed internally or to CNR's clients, prospects, and COIs.
  • Keep abreast of important legislative and tax changes.
  • Participate in the sales process to grow revenue by engaging with prospective clients in conjunction with the PWS team.
  • Enhance existing relationships and reduce attrition by participating in designing integrated wealth plans that enhance the value that colleagues bring to their relationships.
  • Raise awareness of proper channel alignment when confronted with a client/prospect that is more appropriately served by another line of business.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with COI's directly and in partnership with colleagues.
  • Participate in routine third-party audits of all material subject to peer review.
  • Participate in client and community events.

Must-Have*

  • Master's Degree
  • Advanced Degree (JD or CPA or Masters in Tax/Accounting/Business…)
  • Minimum 8 years of financial planning or related experience
  • Minimum 8 years of experience within Banking, Brokerage, or Insurance culture
  • CFP - Certified Financial Planner within 18 months of employment
  • CEPA - Certified Exit Planning Advisor within one year of employment

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrate expertise in multiple areas such as: estate planning and transfer tax; income tax; philanthropic planning; life insurance; asset protection strategies; business exit planning ;
  • Demonstrate expertise in the use of financial modeling systems such as eMoney, NumberCruncher , or the like
  • Stay current on cutting edge wealth planning solutions while retaining the ability to explain and implement those solutions in an easy to understand manner
  • Demonstrate expertise at easily explaining complex strategies to clients and COIs; and quickly identifies and pursues to a successful sale Bank product or service solutions that align with the best interest of the client.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Salesforce
  • Presentation skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding Excel, Word, and PowerPoint creation abilities
Compensation Starting base salary: $122,535 - $208,715 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
