PORTFOLIO ANALYST CREDIT IV

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Partners with Operations & Reporting Manager and Special Situations Group Management to identify, prioritize, track and execute strategic initiatives. Provides analysis on key trends and proposes business solutions related to credit portfolio management processes, efficiencies and staffing. Focus on providing value-added analysis and recommendations to support credit portfolio management. This position will design and generate monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports to support credit portfolio management. Design and maintain a database reporting system to accommodate the information needs. Anticipates short-term and long-term information requirements and generates multiple reports to accommodate current and anticipated needs. Access and interpret data to produce analytical models for management as required. Produce intelligence through querying data repositories, generating periodic reports, and identifying risk trends through quantitative and qualitative analysis. Furthermore, increase automation in processes related to data and reporting along the division to maximize productivity.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Provides strategic business analysis services to business partners. Work closely with the business units to gain in-depth understanding of business strategy, processes, services, roadmap and context in which the business partners operate.
  • Responsible for creating project timelines, managing resources, and keeping management apprised of status. Serve as a technical expert on assigned subject areas by training and advising staff on data structure, tools, queries, and corporate definitions.
  • Serve as departmental representative on requirements and decision-making related to reporting development. Responsible for coordinating activities for portfolio analysts to support development efforts.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of basic structure and data elements used in all reporting systems used by department/division. Continually monitor data quality from multiple sources; if problems are found, determine the source of the problem and pursue system changes to resolve the issue.
  • Data Analytics and modeling; establish base line metrics and analytics, collaborate with Business Operations and the Management team to track and report all key performance indicators against annual, quarterly and monthly goals.
  • Establish and maintain management dashboards, regional reports, and executive review documents that will drive business outcomes.
  • Monitor existing KPI metrics, developing new metrics, identify correlations and root causes.
  • Design and build visualization dashboards to accelerate information-to-action at scale.
  • Performing regular system audits to ensure complete and accurate reporting of data/metrics.
  • Support quarterly, annual planning activities.
  • Develop programs, methodologies, and reports for analyzing and presenting data
  • Act as a SME for BI tools as well as delivering training to team members on the usage of these tools.
  • Contribute and prepare presentations for internal audiences.
  • Invent new ways to define and measure program effectiveness and organizational productivity.
  • Prepare and generate internal and external reports.
  • Develop and support the delivery of information to assist tactical and strategic programs.
  • Design and maintain database applications, reports/lists, statistics, graphics, etc. to provide credit analytics.
  • Develop quantitative methods to measure credit and financial performance.
  • Maintain and utilize system to gather and analyze credit and financial data.
  • Analyze data and review for reasonableness a large volume of monthly credit activity and financial data. Reconcile with general ledger.
  • Design and execute controls.
  • Coordinate and obtain access to data and identifies technical resources for project support. Work with colleagues to define their information requests.
  • Proactively troubleshoot for the best solution given the strategic direction of the division.
  • Prepare documentation of any project/activity assigned.
  • Recommend, update, or design new reports and useful tools to measure performance.
  • Maintain a current awareness and understanding of appropriate banking laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures, and to comply fully with those laws, regulations, policies and procedures.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a credit environment
  • Minimum 7 years experience working in data analysis
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools (Sharepoint, SAP, Business Objects, Tableau, Crystal reports/Dashboard, Snowflake, Oracle, etc)
Additional Qualifications
  • Capacity to work independently with little to no supervision, as well as in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into solutions utilizing a customer-friendly approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct initiatives with successful results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and work in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience with Mortgage, Consumer, or Commercial sales origination platforms/systems preferred
  • Experience communicating and interacting with regulatory agencies including exam management and other regulatory affairs.
  • Expert knowledge of PC computing environments, extensive experience with database reporting using query tools such as Brio, SQL, Python, Tableau and Excel.
  • Prior banking experience and extensive experience writing and developing reports, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent process management and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to independently design and tailor solutions to the required objectives
  • Good knowledge of accounting and financial analysis techniques.
  • Strong analysis and reporting skills.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
Compensation

Starting base salary: $92,114 - $156,880 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
