NEW BUSINESS SPECIALIST WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? To support and facilitate the New Business Department's trust client onboarding process and to support the onboarding of new American Gift Fund accounts. Provide assistance and support to the New Business Officers and the New Business Manager. Interface with the Business Development Department, specifically to provide pipeline updates. Specializing in account opening of internal and external accounts. Ensure proper transition and assignment of specialty assets to be booked as line items. Work with prior trustee termination departments from removal notification through complete asset transfer. Maintain exemplary service levels. Ensure new files are set up on the system correctly. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Possess a strong understanding of trust administration and investment vehicles to ensure proper account coding and documentation.
  • Review documentation collected by other members of the New Business Department to ensure proper completion and collection prior to account opening.
  • Oversee communication with Operations to confirm the proper asset receipt by the Operations Department.
  • Provide peer checks of key New Business Department functions.
  • Focus on expanding efficiency of account opening both internally and with our external investment partners.
  • Help set expectations around timing and progress of files.
  • Ensures all policies and procedures are followed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the development of New Business Department procedures and policies.
  • Provide back up to other members of the New Business Department to cover, vacations and high volume.
  • Actively contribute to projects and participate in interdepartmental and intradepartmental meetings.
  • Collaborate to develop team environment with other RBC Delaware departments.
  • Use impact and influence to motivate others and achieve goals.
  • Reward and recognize other team members when appropriate.
  • Assist in introduction of training programs and coaching.
  • Help create an environment that encourages, and assists with the revenue generation focus.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Additional Qualifications
  • 3+ years financial industry experience, fiduciary area preferred
  • Trust business experience and knowledge
  • Completion of some Cannon Trust school or equivalent coursework
  • Investment product knowledge and experience
  • Compliance and AML knowledge and experience
  • Strong understanding of the third party trust channel and account logistics
  • High competency in principal and income accounting software and Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish relationships and effectively interact with all levels of staff and personnel
  • Works well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Anticipate needs and proactively seek solutions
  • Able to work with different personality types, prioritize tasks and support multiple people
  • Willingness to seek out advice from Senior staff promptly as appropriate
  • Able to self-direct and learn to find solutions prior to asking for assistance
  • Ability to travel 0%-5%

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $31.39 - $50.14 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
