MANAGER REGIONAL OPERATIONS ENTERTAINMENT
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? This position collaborates with the Division Operations Manager, Senior Line Unit Managers, Team Managers, Team Leaders, Account Management Colleagues and the Division Risk Manager. ROM's are subject matter experts and an essential resource for the interpretation of operational policies and procedures. They develop and build proactive partnerships with the line units, back office, and the management team to consult and provide the technical support needed on operational issues/opportunities and mitigation of risk. Engages, develops, manages and participates in bank wide projects and initiatives. Responsible for listening, identifying, and raising issues and/or opportunities for changes in the operation process, policies, and/or procedures to support the operational integrity of City National Bank ("CNB"). Actively coordinates, oversees and participates in new colleague onboarding and integration activities. Promotes, educates and coaches in CNB policies, procedures and all activities related to adherence to Heightened Standards. Builds and maintains operational awareness and structure at all levels in Entertainment Banking. Colleagues will be agents for change and change management. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in failure to achieve goals critical to the objectives of the division and the Bank.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Ensures that the department consistently complies with all City National Bank policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations, and in doing so insures that the department effectively manages operational risk. Utilizes good judgment to ensure that any potential loss situation that could adversely affect the Bank is given an adequate level of visibility with the Division as well as appropriate units within the Bank.
  • Provides oversight through periodic consultative reviews of operational practices in assigned unit(s) and reports results to management.
  • In conjunction with the Division Operations Manager evaluates and recommends changes in operations procedures and/or enhancements of internal control systems to management based on observations and audit results. Effectively implements approved changes within the Division.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of Bank policies, procedures, compliance and heightened standards requirements.
  • Serves as escalation and solution/resolution point for operational, regulatory and/or risk issues and investigations.
  • Appropriately reviews and approves large and complex transactions and requests, as needed; has the same or higher approval limits for overdraft, immediate credit, and wire transfer authority as Team Managers and Senior Vice Presidents. Sets appropriate risk limits for division colleagues.
  • Oversees the operational activities of Account Officers/Managers and other operational staff as assigned. Provides input for performance appraisals, salary and promotion recommendations.
  • Acts as an agent for change and for adherence to CNB culture.
  • Conducts operational self-assessments and internal certifications as required. Achieves "Satisfactory" rating during all operational audits and reviews.
  • Provides operational guidance to all department staff as needed. Ensures that appropriate staff receives operations training as necessary. Conducts internal training as required.
  • Complies fully with all bank risk management, operational and credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, City National Code of Conduct, etc.)
  • Ensures quality client service. Meets with staff on regular basis, discussing operational issues/client relations/satisfaction. Advises management on issues affecting client relations ensuring the timely research and resolution of problems. Identifies and recommends methods to improve effectiveness and program(s) productivity
  • May be assigned additional administrative duties or projects by the Division Operations Manager.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Required Qualifications*
  • 5 years of management experience in bank operations.
  • 10 years of experience in banking or related field.
Additional Qualifications
  • Typically has 5 - 7 year management experience in bank operations and 10+ years in banking or related field.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of bank operations, client relationship and risk management; working knowledge of bank back office processes and systems.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable laws and banking regulations.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop managers and supervisors.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with all levels of management.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
