DATA ANALYST SENIOR - BIS WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Data governance at City National Bank ("CNB") is a critical factor in the support of compliance with regulations required by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency ("OCC") and the Federal Reserve Board ("FRB"). This position will serve as Subject Matter Expert to validate data, challenge the state of data quality, and continuously drive improvements through better and higher definition data analysis. The Operational Metrics and Reporting team's goal is the continuous measurement of data quality, quicken the pace of anomaly detection, and drive data quality improvements at the source resulting in faster cycle times for data remediation. This is a leadership role which includes ensuring proper governance, compliance and best practices are followed within the organization.

What you will do

  • Will assist in the preparation and analysis of reports on a regular basis. This will include the compilation of data, business line reviews and structured period-over-period analysis of assigned reports based on predetermined deadlines
  • Assist in the rollout of reporting and strategy structure including governance frameworks, policies and standards to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Identify, design and implement process improvements for more timely, repeatable reporting
  • Develop and implement data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Assist in the overall analysis of results, training, project plan development, and the documentation of findings, which entails meeting with all relevant stakeholders
  • Acquire data from various sources and reload updated data into the databases
  • Participate in central data cleansing activities to accelerate data quality remediation
  • Participate in data quality improvement initiatives and projects
  • Attend and lead meetings with various stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts
  • Successfully complete all required training and special projects as requested
  • Able to document requirements, test solutions provided based on the requirements
  • Able to document processes, controls and/or validation checks implemented for the processes
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement with the development teams

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of experience working in a data analysis role
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools (Sharepoint, SAP, Business Objects, Tableau, Crystal reports/Dashboard, etc)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in banking/operations

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Must have working knowledge of bank processes and controls
  • Experience working in a formal risk controls environment with strong understanding of scheduled deliverables
  • Ability to work independently and well versed in a collaborative/team-focused environment directly communicating with Managers and peers daily
  • Proficiency in tolls such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Snowflake, Alteryx and Tableau
  • Emphasis in Regulatory Reporting experience preferred
  • Ability to understand the business context and regulatory requirements to define data quality functional requirements and standards
  • Ability to build processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency and metadata
  • Ability to write user stories, work with technical and non-technical teams and lead prioritization calls with stakeholders
Compensation Starting base salary: $92,114 - $156,880 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
