We're looking for a talented leader to join our Global Marketing team. 

The Director of Marketing, United States is responsible for supporting the implementation and coordination of multiple categories strategies to properly reflect the varied marketing markets of the United States, given strategies need to attain key business objectives. The Director will work with the North American and Global Marketing team to create simplified communications and plan for our Business Areas and Business units in the United States.

What You Will Do

Here are just a few ways that you'll help make journeys better:  

Category to country alignment

  • Owns the bi-monthly priorities setting process for their country, seeking alignment and properly aligning data points between categories (Fuel, Food, Merchandising, Thirst. )
  • Owns and manage marketing plan communications content for the national level (POP guide, customer communication calendar)
  • Translate category strategies to country specific plans aligned to business objectives.
  • Supports the development of campaigns by participating in the ideation phase; provides ad-hoc support relevant to defining campaign objectives; will own campaigns if locally relevant (traffic, sales, GP)

Country to BA alignment

  • Owns Business Areas (BA) relationship and communication on behalf of the category marketing team
  • Owns shape of spend guidance during budgeting process & shape of spend reporting during the fiscal year for Marketing GL across the country
  • Owns Training, Best Practices and Innovation sharing and sessions for their country on marketing related activities
  • Responsible for managing external marketing through PR campaigns for their country, and assist Business Areas with planning and implementing local public relations campaigns, as needed
  • Assist Business Areas with planning and coordination of local media spend and allocation to align with global and category media strategy
  • Lead or participates in communications network / weekly communications reporting to the business stakeholders and business areas
  • Lead or participate in country specific tests and pilots
  • Lead country specific partnership negotiation with third party brands for cross marketing efforts

 Education :  

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field preferred. Other combinations of job-related experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.  

Experience: 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in marketing in a National or global company; including three years management experience.  
  • Retail experience considered an asset

Knowledge and skills:  

  • Relationship management, acute ability to influence, financial acumen and analytical skills are required.  
  • Must be able to work independently or collaboratively, in a fast paced, frequently changing business environment.  
  • Knowledge of media and public relations campaigns
  • Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.  

Language skills:  

  • English required, Spanish an asset

Travel 

  • May require up to 30% travel.  
  • Valid driver's license required.
