ChristianaCare is recruiting a Pain Management and Opioid Stewardship Clinical Pharmacy Specialist.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required
  • ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency required or equivalent experience (3 years of acute clinical pharmacy experience)
  • ASHP-accredited PGY2 Pharmacy Residency (relevant specialty) required or equivalent experience (3 years of relevant clinical pharmacy experience, in addition to PGY1 residency or equivalent)
  • Experience in order set review and development preferred
  • Board Certification (example, BCPS) required within 2 years of hire
  • Current licensure (or eligible to reciprocate) in the State of Delaware

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, enforce, and maintain guidelines, order sets, policies, and procedures
  • Deliver direct patient care activities through prospective audit and feedback by crafting, recommending, monitoring, and evaluating patient specific pharmacotherapy
  • Responsible for compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards for opioid stewardship
  • Collect, analyze, and report opioid utilization data to internal and external stake holders as appropriate
  • Maintain a proficiency in knowledge related to current resources and primary literature pertinent to pain management pharmacotherapy
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and promote education, training, competency assessment of pharmacists
