Description

JOB PURPOSE Reports to the Senior Director of FP&A and assists with multiple duties in regards to accounting and financial planning and analysis functions of Eduserve Solutions within established deadlines. To support EduServe's Finance department and support multi-company budgeting, forecasting and financial management requirements. The Senior Accounting Analyst provides a wide variety of customer service for school locations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting Duties

  1. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for multiple entities, which includes the following:
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and post required journal entries
  • Review & reconcile all balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare summary of significant events and budget variances
  1. Prepare supporting documentation for financial statements including balance sheet schedules and other reconciliations
  2. Work closely with independent auditors during annual financial statement audit with preparing schedules and invoices, providing explanations of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data.
  3. Posting of accounts to the General Ledger for:
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Cash Receipts
  • Accounts Payable
  • Cash Disbursements
  • Payroll
  1. Maintain records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material; update records as necessary.
  2. Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, schools, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  3. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  4. Provide support such as schedules, data, information, etc. for the annual budget process.

 

Financial Planning & Analysis Duties

  1. Plans and carries out budget procedures for multiple business units including monthly monitoring of department expenditures and revenues; communicating monitoring status to management; assisting business units and departments in the preparation of business unit and department budgets; reviewing and making recommendations on business unit and department budget proposals; assisting in the development of multi-year forecast estimates for business unit and department expenditures and revenues; reviewing business unit and department performance measures.
  2. Develops and maintains budget-monitoring models and coordinates production of the formal monitoring report (i.e., dashboard reporting).
  3. Assists department(s) in preparing proposals, provides input for forecasts and budgets and supporting information; explains policies and procedures; and provide recommendations.
  4. Assists with special studies that require data compilation; analyzes and interprets information in oral and written presentations.
  5. Monitors and stays abreast of current and proposed legislation as it relates to the industry.
  6. Analyzes and performs research on current and past financial data performance and prepares reports and projections based on analysis. Identifies trends in financial performance and provide recommendations.
  7. Prepares and Conducts financial presentations to school governing boards.

  JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years finance or other relevant accounting experience
  • Computer Basics -- MS Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); proficiency in accounting software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the responsibilities of this position, the work environment characteristics listed below are representative of the environment the employee will encounter:

  • Usual office working conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • No physical exertion required.
  • Travel within or outside of state.
  • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with Eduserve Solutions salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Eduserve Solutions.

 

FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY

Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

 

EVALUATION

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Eduserve Solutions policy.
