As a Director of Talent Development (TD), you will design the strategy and spearhead the execution of key talent initiatives across the network. This role develops and deploys enterprise-wide leadership development programs with a focus on inclusive leadership and provides a high level of customer service with implementation and support of those programs. The Director of TD understands fundamentals of instructional design and develops courses, tools, and programs with proper application of these fundamentals to inspire, educate, and engage team members. The successful candidate has demonstrated the capacity to drive multiple projects to completion, identify interdependencies across organizational development efforts and align teams to collaborate effectively in pursuit of the business objective.

Instruction/Education Responsibilities

  • Proactively partner with business leaders, conduct needs assessments, and solve day-to-day challenges with holistic programmatic solutions.
  • Responsible for performance management, talent reviews and succession planning, partnering with key leaders to design, develop, and update training programs to support operational strategic plans and business objectives. This includes defining strategy, program design, objectives, and measurement.
  • Provides recommendations on learning strategy based on evaluation of internal resources such as themes from engagement survey results, IDP themes, exit interview trends, needs assessments and feedback from leadership.
  • Delivers multi-media training materials (print, classroom and web-based) to support training programs for participants and facilitators. Materials should use solid instructional design methodology including active learning, job aids, assessments, competency-based evaluations and incorporate adult learning principles.
  • Evaluate the success of various projects and initiatives and provide documentation of qualitative and quantitative results.
  • Develops and maintains organizational communication and marketing to create and ensure awareness of offerings and impact of learning and development on the organization.
  • Ensures there is a clear process and tools to support management development planning and resources are in place following talent reviews and succession planning.
  • Uses the output from talent review to identify any company-wide executive development priorities and ensures a plan to meet those priorities.
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition to identify opportunities to improve the organization's ability to leverage the internal talent pool and drive critical role fill rate.
  • Plans and may facilitate company-wide employee development and/or training events.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Subject matter expertise in talent planning, performance management, talent review and succession planning and assessment.
  • Strong hands-on organization/project management skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments, projects, and timelines. Ability to identify interdependencies, resource needs, potentials risks and mitigation plans.
  • Expertise and experience across the following OD competencies: strategy, operating model, change, transformation, process, and role clarity.
  • Detail oriented with strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to negotiate and influence. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Exhibit's strong leadership skills, executive presence, and business acume.
  • Is self-directed, proactive and takes initiative; thinks creatively; drives projects to completion.
  • Prior experience with various assessment tools, for example 360's, Hogan, etc.
  • Gives high attention to detail and insists on the highest level of quality.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
  • Master's degree in HR, OD or Industrial/Organizational Psychology strongly desired. Knowledge of organizational development theory and practices and tools a must.
  • 15+ years combined experience in HR, talent management, talent assessment, employee development.
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Advanced excel and analytics.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, Microsoft Project (or other comparable project management platform)
  • May perform other duties assigned.
