As an Assistant Deputy Director (ADD), you will be a member of the Education Leadership team who reports to and supports the State Team Leadership to drive the excellence of our K-12 network of schools' academic performance, operations, educational programs and CSUSA's core educational strategies. The ADD supervises, with oversight from the DSD, all regional operations personnel within their assigned region.

Instruction/Education Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Monitors, disaggregates, uses, and provides existing data appropriately to diagnose and assess school needs. Increases schools' capacity to seek, critically assess, and selectively incorporate new ideas, practices and initiatives. Develops the capacity of school principals and other pertinent educational leaders to monitor and improve instruction. Monitors the implementation of instructional programming, digital, and blended learning tools and strategies customized to the individual strengths, needs, and aspirations of each learner. Monitors the implementation of effective initiatives to meet the needs of all students. Leads strategic change that continuously elevates the performance of schools and sustains high quality educational programs and opportunities across the Organization. Works collaboratively with DSD and National to ensure renewal of CSUSA's system-wide accreditation certification. Continually assesses and evaluates progress and growth toward meeting strategic goals at the school level. Reviews and provides feedback on school-level strategic plans to ensure alignment with CSUSA's strategic priorities and school-level goals. Directs schools in effectively using data to adjust instruction and informed school improvement decisions. Provides regional expertise in the state accountability model. Ensures the State Team's Balanced Assessment System (BAS) meets the criteria outlined in CSUSA's BAS non-negotiable policy and aligns with the state accountability model. Keeps national team apprised of state accountability releases, updates to legislation, or accountability calculus. Coordinates the delivery of supplementary data and summary information to CSUSA National team from unsupported platforms, curriculum, and programs to support reporting and progress monitoring.
Talent Development
Builds schools' capacity to support school improvement. Provides coaching, support, and professional learning strategies to school principals' and leadership teams to grow as accountability leaders. Engages in self-development and continuous improvement to facilitate school principals' and leadership teams in growth as accountability leaders. Provides training on data analysis, state accountability model alignment and continuous improvement strategies. Collaboratively work with the State Deputy team to identify, create and deliver effective professional development that is aligned across the state. Evaluates performance of assigned school principals and assistant principals as well as provides input into the evaluation of instructional team members. Implement and monitors leadership advancement pathways. Support s each principal's performance in terms of the school's productivity in achieving CSUSA strategic goals. Maintains timely and accurate information and accounts for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
Mission-Driven Culture
Helps schools, parents, students, teachers, and the community make critical use of data with the result being improved school-wide cultures. Develops collegial relationships within the organization and works collaboratively with other area directors. Keeps the DSD informed of current state-wide issues and incidents about which he/she and the State Superintendent should be aware.
Operational Excellence
Implements rigorous project management, structures, protocols, and processes. Models the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including communications, organization, and management tasks. Maintains visibility in schools and community for the effective operation of the schools and the effectiveness of employees. Follows the organization's policies and procedures. Responsible for self-development and keeps up to date on current research, trends, and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility. Communicates and coordinates with LEA on deadlines and requirements due. Communicates directly and regularly with CSUSA schools implementing corrective action plans. Maintains accountability-reporting schedule and communicates requirements to functional areas and schools. Communicates with key stakeholders effectively on accountability issues. Supports new operational and educational solutions and innovation in the organization.
Finance, Grants & HR
Advise schools on utilization of school budgets, grants, and staff to provide the highest quality education to our students Assigns training, duties, and projects to various team members.
IT
Oversees the region's IT services, specific to state testing and accountability, to ensure the schools are properly outfitted with the technology needed to ensure our students' and staff's success.
Governance
Participates in pre-board calls for relevant agenda items. Attends and supports regional CSUSA board meetings with relevant items on the agenda.
Personalized Opportunities
Assists the DSD in ensuring that the schools in the state are culturally/socially responsive and have equitable access to resources necessary for the success of each student. Uses evidence of school principals' effectiveness to determine necessary improvements in practice to foster a positive educational environment that supports the diverse cultural and learning needs of students.
Resource Optimization
Monitors and assists with the implementation of best practices for schools to meet the current and future changes to the state's accountability system. Uses the power of strategizing rather than focusing upon one single strategy; seeks continual feedback, reshaping plans and working with changes as a process rather than a product. Models the effective implementation of resource optimization including programmatic decisions based on program evaluation or return on investment.
Required Qualifications and Skills

Job Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent. 3-5 years related experience (in school administration) and /or training. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Student Information System (SIS), and preparing reports and visual presentations. Commitment to company values.
