The Pre-Surgical Coordinator-UC contributes to the company's mission and vision by supporting and coordinating clinical performance in assigned market. The Pre-Surgical Coordinator works collaboratively with the Market Medical Director (MMD) to promote, design and implement CareNow's preoperative protocols. In order to achieve defined outcomes, the Pre-Surgical Coordinator demonstrates commitment, encourages cultural changes, disseminates information, and ensures compliance with applicable accreditation, regulatory, and licensure standards.
SUPERVISOR: Dir Quality UC with Dual Reporting to Mgr(s) Mkt UC
Articulates understanding and execution of CareNow's preoperative protocols. Works collaboratively with the MMD to educate providers and staff how the pre-surgical evaluation is properly completed and documented. Develops a working relationship with the surgical coordinators in HCA market hospitals and surgical centers, as well as with local HCA surgical practices. Responsible for tracking the pre-surgical evaluations performed in all our Centers, along with the results of requisite labs, studies and referral reports. Addresses critical lab values or study reports with MMD and/or physician immediately. Assist physicians and MMD in obtaining necessary outside medical records. Collates these reports and present pre-surgical evaluation in a timely manner to the appropriate MMD for review. Forwards the pre-surgical evaluation report to the appropriate surgical coordinator upon MMD review. Assists in facilitating referrals for patients deemed by the MMD to need further pre-surgical evaluation by a specialist. Maintains phone communication with pre-surgical patients regarding evaluation status and communicates any need for further studies as deemed necessary by MMD. Works with providers, MMD's and quality management to continue to refine the POE guidelines to reflect evidence based recommendations. Performs other duties as required. Willing to travel to other markets as needed. Maintains the strictest confidentiality in the areas of patient, employee and physician relations. Travel: 10-30%

RN Diploma required BSN preferred
1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting
