Summary
Supervises and oversees the daily operational needs of the Cache Creek Casino Resort Retail Department in the Gift Shop, Mini Mart, Extra's, and Golf Pro Shop. Responsibilities include scheduling staff, ordering supplies, inventory control, and merchandising. Provides an interactive shopping experience for guests while ensuring the delivery of extraordinary guest service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manages operations of shift including assigning workstations and breaks, and coaching, counseling, and scheduling all staff on duty
- Promotes a positive work environment.
- Operates the Point of Sale System, and runs daily reports as instructed.
- Performs duties of staff positions as needed.
- Responsible for monthly inventory of retail products.
- Responsible for efficient shift and break scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing levels according to business volumes, i.e., special events, holidays, weekends, etc.
- Works with buyer for suggestions on re-orders of merchandise and customer requests.
- Maintains cleanliness of the stores by re-shelving merchandise, dusting, and cleaning as needed.
- Manages down-time activities to ensure staff is always working productively.
- Maintains efficient inventory levels at store and stockroom. Establishes and monitors replenishment levels.
- Structures appropriate selection of items within a classification based upon brand, desire retail range, theme and floor space.
- Ability to attain all required certifications (TIPS and ServSafe).
- Effectively resolves guest complaints to the benefit of the guest, department, and resort.
- Encourages and enables people to be autonomous and to use good judgement and common sense.
- Fosters collaboration and a positive attitude both with members of your work team, colleagues, and outside vendors.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the Retail Operations department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws to include training employees, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, and addressing complaints and disciplinary problems.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
One year customer service or retail experience and/or training; Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of experience and education. Must have cash handling and POS balancing experience. One year key holder or leadership experience required.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, mathematical or schedule form.
Age Requirement
Must be at least 21 years of age.
