We are seeking a Senior Director of Global Benefits to serve as a strategic partner on the Global Total Rewards team. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the global benefits strategy, including the development and management of all benefits offerings across the 52 countries in which we operate. You will also be responsible for enterprise oversight of all benefit programs, from plan design and implementation to ongoing operation of plans in compliance with regulatory requirements.  

The ideal candidate will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors, including brokers and the global captive, to design, implement, and continuously improve a benefits program that meets the diverse needs of our international workforce while driving employee engagement, health, and retention. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to health (medical, dental and vision), life and disability, global wellness, retirement, pension programs, global mobility (including relocation), leave administration, and other key employee benefit programs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Global Benefits Strategy Development and Execution 

  • Lead the creation and execution of the global benefits strategy across 52 countries, aligning with the company's overall goals and values. 

  • Partner with key stakeholders, including HR leaders, to craft and maintain comprehensive benefits plans tailored to regional and local regulations, needs, and cultural differences. 

  • Leverage data, benchmarks, and industry best practices to continuously refine and optimize global benefits offerings. 

Wellness Strategy 

  • Design and implement global wellness programs that promote mental, physical, and emotional well-being, with a focus on preventative care and work-life balance. 

  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of wellness initiatives, adjusting strategies based on employee feedback and key metrics. 

Global Mobility & Leave Administration 

  • Oversee the administration of a global mobility program (to be created), ensuring a smooth transition for employees moving between countries. 

  • Manage and ensure compliance with leave administration programs, including parental leave, sick leave, and vacation time, while ensuring adherence to local labor laws and regulations. 

  • Develop global minimum standards for all things in this category. 

 

Retirement Plans & Pension Management 

  • Lead the strategy and management of global retirement plans and pension schemes, ensuring alignment with local market standards and company objectives. 

  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements and support employees in planning for retirement. 

 

Global Captive Insurance 

  • Collaborate with the Global Benefits Manager (broker) as well as our Global Captive to manage the global insurance program, ensuring it meets the needs of the business while maintaining cost-effectiveness. 

  • Develop and drive initiatives to integrate the global captive into the broader benefits strategy. 

Team Leadership and Collaboration 

  • Lead and mentor a team of global benefits professionals, providing strategic direction, career development, and performance management. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, Legal, and external vendors, to ensure alignment and successful execution of global benefits programs. 

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight 

  • Stay informed on global benefits regulations, labor laws, and emerging trends across all 52 countries. 

  • Ensure that all benefit programs comply with local, regional, and international legislation. 

Communication and Employee Engagement 

  • Develop and implement communication strategies to educate employees about available benefits and how to maximize them. 

  • Foster a culture of transparency and trust by engaging employees in the benefits decision-making process and gathering feedback to drive program enhancements. 

Team Development:

  • Lead and mentor a global benefits team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. 

  • Experience: 15+ years of experience in global benefits, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience managing benefit programs in a multi-country environment, preferably in a large-scale organization. Experience managing in a matrixed organization. 

  • Market Knowledge: Strong knowledge of global benefits trends, practices, and regulatory considerations. 

  • Analytical Expertise: Exceptional analytical skills and proficiency in managing spend amongst the various vendors. 

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
