Job Description

Brink's Global Services U.S., a division of Brink's, Incorporated, is the premier provider of precious commodities, diamonds and jewelry, armored car transportation, and other value added services to retailers, financial institutions, and other commercial and government entities. Job Summary:
The Operational Excellence Specialist is responsible for overall process design, analysis, and improvement. You will support the implementation of Lean thinking, its initiatives and follow up throughout the US as required. Support on data gathering, metrics tracking, its analysis and communication to relevant parties., and TQM & Lean Development initiatives.  This position assists with the development and implementation of operational customer service improvement plans, controls and strategies used in the US Global Services (USGS) network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Lean Thinking across BGS US, through applying and coaching in the use of Lean concepts on the everyday assignments. Provide training and coaching to relevant positions.
  • Conduct process mapping, review workflows, recommend changes when necessary to improve efficiency, eliminate redundant processes, and identify waste.
  • Development and implementation of operational SOP's, SWI's for all lines of business across BGS US, using Lean methodology and to comply with BGS global standards, in coordination with relevant departments (Audit, Security) to make sure controls are in place. Ongoing review of processes & procedures. Introduce operational training on newly developed SOP's and SWI's
  • Introduce key performance indicators across all operations.
  • Support enforcement of basic security protocols, segregation of duty requirements and dual control requirements.
  • Support planning and execution of projects as required. (e.g. rebuild, new services)
  • Support on the creation of reports for the business units, upon validation with business owners. Support on tracking saving initiatives (WD)
  • Gather data form the department's activities and define and measure OPEX KPIs.
  • Travel to branch locations to conduct inquiries, analysis and audits.
  • Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, and trends and developments in technology and equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or minimum of 2 years experience mapping, developing, and measuring operational processes.
  • Minimum of 2 years working with or exposed to Lean Manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with MS Office suite.
  • Lean Black Belt/ Silver level or higher
  • 10%-30% travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the freight or security transportation business.
  • Experience in inventory management
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio or any other process mapping tool.
