Job Summary:
The Operations & Vault Manager is responsible for the overall functioning of the Salt Lake City operation and Precious Metals activities; supervision of management team, customer service and retention, developing business opportunities, employee training and development, safety programs and promotion of all corporate goals and objectives.
This position will work with the Senior Director of Operations and the Director of Commodities to ensure that all division and local customers are appropriately serviced at all times. The position will also work closely with the BGS Operations Team to support all related Export / Import activities.
This position functions in an armed environment and requires the enforcement of rules to protect the premises and property of Brink's and its customers, as well as the safety of all on the premises of Brink's.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Director of Operations in providing the leadership necessary to organize the market logistics and aggressively develop a product-driven organization.
- Manage the day to day activities of the Vault Operational team, the Customer Service Team and the Operations Team.
- Ensure Brink's standards, process and procedures are adhered to with the vault check in/out process; the opening and closing of the facility; managing the integrity of the Vault and all Vault Procedures, at all times.
- Monitors employee productivity and develops recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate daily, weekly and monthly audits of material in the vault.
- Provide other management support as may be directed from time and to be available to work flexible hours.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all branch employees and keep in constant communication with the Senior Director Operations and Commercial Team on matters pertaining to the Vault and all Vault/PM customers.
- Responsible for staffing requirements and managing the scheduling of staff to appropriately meet daily needs.
- Supervise the balancing process of all customer inventories and perform daily customer report functions.
- Problem solving when any issues arise relating to shipment errors and variances during the balancing process.
- Training and supervision on the equipment in the branch
- Other assigned duties as directed.
- Lead team to quickly adapt to change during times of transition, including marketplace shifts/product launches.
- Manage key performance indicators, including labor, quality, adherence to standard operating procedures and other business measurements.
- Identifies ways to improve management of costs, continually improve margins to positively impact business results.
- Proactively reduce risk exposure and ensure implementation of measures to reduce worker's compensation injury costs and security losses within the market.
- Support, coach and provide leadership to Supervisors and Leads.
- Continuously manage regular audit and cycle count activities in compliance with company policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years supervising or managing a group of logistics professionals engaged in secured logistics activities including but not limited to the inventory management, inflow and outflow of sensitive and highly valuable items.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in logistics in a high touch customer facing role and/or a role processing shipments through a logistics life cycle or Transferrable Brinks or Brinks Global Service experience in a role that would serve as the foundation for this position.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- A valid firearms permit or ability to pass applicable firearms licensing requirements
- A valid guard card or ability to obtain a guard card or any other required licenses
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in precious metals storage, freight forwarding/transportation or related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in precious metals trading is advantageous or working in an environment where high value liability is managed/stored.
- Working knowledge of Lean/Process Improvement methodologies
