Bob's Discount Furniture, a fast-growing furniture retailer located in Manchester, CT, is seeking a Senior Analyst of FP&A with a focus on Store and Customer Service Operational Optimization. The successful candidate will play a vital role in analyzing the performance of operations and identifying areas of opportunity to drive operational excellence. The candidate will summarize current achievements ensuring all stakeholders understand results, variances, and trends. In addition, the candidate will develop and manage an annual budget and accurate monthly forecasts that will result in operational excellence while being fiscally responsible. The candidate must be detailed oriented, be able to think critically, have strong communication skills, be able to work on tight deadlines, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Job Responsibilities
- Review monthly P&L detail prior to close ensuring that financial statements accurately reflect results
- Analyze and interpret monthly financial results for stores, customer service and related departments
- Summarize and present monthly P&L results to the stores and customer service leadership teams
- Build an annual budget and monthly forecasts in collaboration with store and customer service leaders for all general and administrative expenses
- Analyze expense trends and identify any risks or opportunities anticipated in future periods
- Understand expense changes needed to meet the needs of the business and identify mitigation strategies to avoid budget or forecast impacts
- Respond to miscellaneous ad hoc requests
- Variance analysis as needed
Required Competencies
- Managing cross departmental communication
- 3+ years of FP&A experience
- Exceptional and advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills and proficiency in working with different systems to retrieve and analyze data
- Proficiency in complex financial modeling
- Ability to work with massive amounts of data and summarize and convey findings
- Thrive in a high performance, fast‐paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Balance multiple projects and meet necessary deadlines
- Ability to leverage data in disparate systems and determine/confirm the accuracy of such data
- Must be an analytical thinker with the ability to problem solve
Preferred Competencies
- Retail FP&A experience
- History of supporting growing teams within a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Effective and persuasive in leading change, applying business acumen, company values, while demonstrating the emotional intelligence that inspires others
- Builds collaborative relationships across various business partners
Supervisory Responsibility
- Reports to the Operations Director of FP&A.
Work Environment
This work environment includes working in a corporate, business environment or working remotely from a home residence. This may include working in an office, consulting with organization partners and vendors. This position is primarily remote but may require occasional travel. This is typically a normal
M-F work week.
Physical Demands
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
- Must be able to identify, assess and observe detail
- Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly
- Ability to squat, kneel, bend and twist occasionally
Expected Hours of Work and Travel
- Normal work week hours at an executive level.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business or related areas required
- 3+ years of FP&A experience
- Extensive hands-on experience and willingness to dive into large/complex data sets, ability to abstract and identify pattern, perform data validation, clean up and transformation needed for business analysis
- Expertise in business analytics and tools including advanced Excel
- Highly adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity with the ability to problem solve
- Ability to articulate complex data to all business partners
- Must be detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple assignments promptly and effectively
- Demonstrated ability to work calmly in a fast-paced team environment while effectively managing multiple tasks
- Strong level of personal organization
- Energetic and positive contributor to the team
Expected Base Pay Not Including Potential Commissions, Incentive, Bonus, etc. Opportunities:
$75,000 - $95,000
