JOB SUMMARY
  • Rehab is an 18 bed in patient Acute Rehab program that is CARF (Commission for the Accreditation of Rehab facilities) accredited. This skilled team has experience working with many types of impairments resulting from spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations, arthritis, stroke, fractures, multiple trauma, neuromuscular disease and other orthopedic/neurologic diagnoses. Our nursing staff is a combination of RN's, C.N.A's and Unit Secretaries. We work collaboratively with the Rehab Physiatrist, patients and their support systems, therapy staff, social workers, discharge planners, chaplains and dietitians. Our average daily census is approximately 13 patients and our average length of stay for our patients is approximately 13 days. We offer intensive Rehabilitation nursing 7 days per week 24 hours per day and the emphasis is maximizing the patient's health and independence.

    The nurse manager leads frontline nursing staff in the delivery of patient care. The nurse manager guides the staff through action plans which support organizational goals of quality, efficiency, and excellence in practice.

    • 24/7 accountability for the delivery of nursing care
    • Adoption of innovative nursing practices based on evidence
    • Effective two-way communication and problem solving at the unit and organizational level
    • Recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of nursing staff
    • Ensure nursing staff compliance with the following;
      • Professional development
      • Adherence to nursing standards of practice
      • Regulatory standards
      • ANA Code of Ethics
      • Peer reviews
      • Organizational and unit policies
      • Mandatory education
      • Infection control practice
      • Scheduling processes and procedures
      • I CARE standards of behavior
    • Budget development, utilization, evaluation, and adjustment
    • Maintenance of a healthy work environment utilizing the principles of “just culture” which neither holds the nurse accountable for system failures nor tolerates reckless behavior
    • Evaluates clinical nurses
    • Mentors the Associate Nurse Manager, charge nurses, and clinical nurses
    • Implement changes in nursing practice and/or patient care through the shared governance structure
    • Patient and employee rounding
  • This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Corporate Services, ICARE standards, adherence to the Code of Conduct, organization policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Administration and Code of Ethics for Nurses.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education/Training/Experience:
  • REQUIRED:
    • Graduate of an RN School of Nursing
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
    • Minimum 3 years related nursing experience
    • Minimum 3 years progressive nurse leadership experience
  • PREFERRED:
    • Master of Science in Nursing
  • License/Certifications/Special Requirements:
    • Possesses current state RN license.
    • Maintain current BLS
    • Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse License.
    • National Nursing Leadership Certification (when eligible)
    • ACLS (within 6 months of hire)
    • Preferred: Related Nursing Specialty Certification
