Accounting Intern

PAID INTERNSHIP

LOCATED AT HOME OFFICE IN BEAR LAKE, MI

Your Role:

Our paid internship offers valuable experience critical to helping you build a marketable skillset. This internship rotates through the different functions within accounting, so you'll get to see it all! You'll gain experience in many different areas, such as working with balance sheet accounts, posting, journal entries, taxes, reconciliation, closing, data entry, auditing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

 

To qualify for this role you will need the following knowledge and experience:

  • Current enrollment in a related degree or other educational program.
  • Strong communication and collaborations skills.
  • Computer literacy with standard MS Office products and related technology.
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize duties is necessary.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills needed.

Major Internship Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop internship goals and work schedules in conjunction with accounting leadership. Produce self-evaluations and other documents that demonstrate learning and progress.
  • Perform the essential duties of each department function in rotation. This includes A/R, C-Store Support, Bills of Lading, and A/P.
  • Learns and follows company policies, procedures and practices.
  • Completes training as required to participate in scheduled work and/or development.
  • Audits own work for accuracy.
  • Promptly provide in detail any specific requirements you may have for the internship.
  • Performs tasks at the offices of Blarney Castle Oil Co.
  • Be available and engaged in weekly 1 on 1's with your mentor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Provide you with a full schedule of your time while working at Blarney Castle Oil Co.
  • Build a well-rounded internship program that allows you to spend one month in each of the following internal departments: Accounts Receivable, C-Store Support, Bills of Lading, and Accounts Payable.
  • Offer versatile insight into the Blarney Castle Oil Co. organization to help you make an informed decision about a future career with BCOC or future companies in the working world.
  • Provide you with a meaningful exit interview.
  • Continue to maintain a professional relationship with you as you move forward with your education and future work.
  • Reward you with a certificate of completion or other formal recognition document that states expectations either meet, passed, or exceeded our expectations. You may use this document as a future reference.
