PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The IS Clinical Applications Manager is responsible for managing the Clinical Applications Group and oversees the development, maintenance, support, and optimization of new and existing clinical applications.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duty 1: Provides application support and direction for team analysts allowing them to work independently on projects, but understands the appropriate time for updates and assistance, as to effectively use resources in the IT team
Duty 2: Advises systems analyst personnel concerning administrative procedures, technical problems, and priorities. Assigns and monitors work of systems analysts, providing technical support and direction
Duty 3: Evaluates progress and results regarding group activities and goal attainment
Duty 4: Manages staff, including career development and resource planning
Duty 5: Develops and establishes departmental standards and procedures
Duty 6: Captains the project portfolio, including coordination with and reporting on projects to organization and management.
Duty 7: Collaborates with colleagues and business owners to identify needs and opportunities
Duty 8: Manages and prioritizes requests and project tasks assigned to the team, while ensuring workload is realistic and projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Duty 9: Conducts effective and meaningful meetings both inter and intra-departmentally. (agendas, minutes, time adherence and relevance
Duty 10: Provides guidance on purchase requests, application roadmap and standardization.
Duty 11: Manages service level agreements and provide metric reporting to leadership
Duty 12: Serves as a project manager on application projects as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, Nursing or equivalent
- 3 to 5+ years of experience with one to three years of leadership-related experience
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting clinical applications and workflow
- Leadership experience leading and motivating cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals
- Proven experience in leading large-scale IT projects and directing staff in integrating information services in addressing overall business needs
- Experience serving as a role model to the team for exceptional customer service, professionalism, respectful behavior and teamwork
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and express ideas clearly both verbally and in writing in non-technical terms for users at all levels and in clinical terms for clinicians
- Experience in interpreting the applicability of local and federal laws/regulations (including HIPAA laws) to company operations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, user department personnel and software suppliers
- Ability to be on call
- A valid driver's license is required (if you do not have a valid Ohio driver's license you must obtain one within 30 days of your residency in the state). You must also meet BVHS's company fleet policy and insurance company requirements, and any other requirements that may be required to operate a vehicle.
- Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Oracle Cerner Millennium
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
