The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital is looking for an experienced AP/CP board certified pathologist, who is qualified to obtain a medical license in Massachusetts, to join a team of 3 pathologists based at Mount Auburn Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliated Community Hospital in Cambridge, MA. Fellowship training and experience in breast pathology is desired. Responsibilities include sign-out of general surgical biopsies and resections as well as participating in frozen section, cytology and on-call services in addition to oversight of general clinical pathology needs. Good communication skills and desire to work collaboratively with pathology staff and clinical colleagues are required.

As members of the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Department of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, the pathologists at Mount Auburn Hospital collaborate with 18 pathologists at the Lahey-Burlington campus. The combined professional services provide a wide range of subspecialty expertise in anatomic and clinical pathology. Mount Auburn anatomic pathology processes approximately 15,000 surgical and non-gynecologic cytology specimens per year. Clinical pathology provides on-site services in clinical chemistry, hematology/coagulation and transfusion medicine.

Mount Auburn Hospital was founded in 1886 as the first hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is a top teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School. The hospital has 217 licensed beds and offers comprehensive inpatient services in all medical specialties, including cancer care.
