Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for patient greeting, guidance to exam room and discharge in accordance with Vascular Specialty Center policies and procedures
- Takes patient vitals, weight and urine specimens in accordance with Vascular Specialty Center policies and procedures and routes information and/or specimens to appropriate parties
- Ready patient exam room for in office procedures
- Records and files Rx medication in accordance with Vascular Specialty policies and procedures
- Day-to-day maintenance of patient medical records and charts
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting to maintain a neat and orderly office, filing and clinical reception area
- Cross-train with other departments as needed
- Participates in other duties as assigned by supervisors
Minimum Experience, Education, and Licensure:
- MA program graduate
- Some experience as a medical receptionist or in a medical or physician office setting
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Computer records system experience.
- Must have advanced clerical training, which includes typing, basic filing skills, and fundamental understanding of office procedures
- Ability to use standard office equipment including computers, photocopiers, facsimile machines and printers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology and surgical procedure nomenclature
- Conveys a professional and positive image and attitude regarding Vascular Specialty Center
Physical Demands:
- High energy level
- Knowledge and use of proper body mechanics
- Some ergonometric and eye strain
- Varying standing and sitting for extended periods of time throughout day
- Occasional lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching
