The Basics
Location: Cherryvale, KS
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience
Days/Hours: This will be mainly a day shift job but your team will be working off hours and you will have responsibility for their productivity and training so you will have to come in off hours as needed

What you'll be doing:
- Will lead and be accountable for all Quality and Food Safety systems and performances
- Owns site FSMA and food oil quality program
- Lead a team to maintain Quality and Food Safety Management System requirements throughout the manufacturing and supply chain process to ensure execution and compliance with company policies / processes, regulatory requirements
- Oversite of contract manufacturing and external warehouses supporting the business will be expected
- Collaboration and leadership with cross-functional teams such as operations, customer quality, commercial, regulatory, R&D, etc., to ensure quality and good safety processes and programs are met
- Ensure effective monitoring and communication of corporate performance metrics as well as local metrics to improve areas of focus
- Responsible to be point of contact for all external customer, regulatory, and certification audits as well as follow-up and corrective action completion/verification of effectiveness
- Provides oversight and support for all Significant Quality Events (SQE), and Serious Quality Near-misses and lead mock recall program
Requirements to be successful in this position:
- An Associate's degree in a discipline like Food Science/Engineering, Microbiology, Food or Analytical Chemistry or similar area of concentration
- Soybean processing facility lab experience is preferred
- 3+ years' experience in managing quality control, quality assurance, and food safety in a food processing environment.
- Will need to be trained in HACCP within six months
- Experience in kosher and FSMA Food Safety Plan is a plus
- Able to lead, mentor, train and inspire your team
Physical Requirements:
- This job is not overly physically strenuous
- You must be able to sit and/or stand and operate lab equipment and to utilize computers
- Occasionally, you will need to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
- Able to ascend and descend stairs
- This job is mainly in a controlled-atmosphere environment, indoors in an office building, but you will have frequent exposure to outdoor and processing areas of the facility
