The Basics
Location: You will based in the Midwest and the work will take place at various grain elevators, flour mills and soybean processing plants located throughout the Midwest and in North Carolina. This position will require travel to all locations
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience and skills
Days/Hours: Typically you will work Monday-Friday and you are home most weekends. Occasional work over weekends, although rare, does occur
Equipment Used: Various grain handling and processing equipment
Software Used: Microsoft office products, SIMON CMMS

What you'll be doing:
Installing,maintaining and troubleshooting of industrial electrical control systems. This role emphasizes relay-based control logic, basic PLC diagnostics (no programming), and includes field support for conduit and wire installation.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, wire, and troubleshoot relay-based control panels, motor starters, timers, and control devices
- Perform PLC system diagnostics, including I/O troubleshooting and sensor fault identification (no programming required)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and control prints
- Assist electricians with conduit and wire installations in industrial environments
- Support control panel fabrication and wiring modifications as needed
- Participate in preventative maintenance and upgrades of control systems
- Help retrofit or upgrade outdated systems with modern control components
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA standards
- Travel regularly to job sites, typically returning home by the weekend
Requirements to be successful in this position:
- 3+ years of experience as an industrial or commercial electrician
- Strong working knowledge of relay logic, motor controls, and low-voltage control circuits
- Familiarity with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) for basic field diagnostics
- Physically capable of assisting with conduit work and wire pulls
- Able to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Comfortable with a travel-based role, with flexibility for extended job site stays during the week
- High school diploma or GED
- For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
- Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- This job requires the ability to read and comprehend written and oral operational and safety instructions and related rules, policies and memos, and to communicate clearly with co-workers and supervisors.
- Experience with PLC programming or modifications
- Ability to design or edit electrical schematics using AutoCAD or other tools
- Familiarity with control system integration and best practices for industrial panel design

- Must be able to walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces
- You will be exposed to various site hazards, including but not limited to loud noises and flashing lights, dust and fumes, hazardous materials, heavy equipment and machinery, and other situations specific to the work and location
