Summary and Qualifications:

Oversee and ensure that Banfield is making progress to become a best-in-class employer of choice, particularly in the areas of associate engagement and associate development.

Provide leadership, training, development and talent planning programs and tools that align with the Practice's engagement and talent strategy.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
  • Design, develop and deploy strategy, programs, and tools to support the engagement climate at all levels of leadership, particularly partnering with and supporting P&O leaders and SLT on engagement strategy and initiatives.
  • Manage ongoing engagement, Performance Development Process (PDP), MDR and succession planning processes for the practice.
  • Ensure tracking and effective metrics are in place to bolster engagement strategy effectiveness, making appropriate recommendations based on results.
  • Manage practice wide recognition programs including Make the Difference, Mutuality Awards, and others as they arise.
  • Provide expertise, direction, and training facilitation for processes and strategies related to PDP, leadership development, and engagement in cross-functional projects.
  • Design and facilitate training programs related to PDP, leadership development and organizational culture change, catering programs and trainings for different audiences and delivery methods.
  • Collect data and provide cross-functional analyses throughout the practice, utilizing research and data collection methods to evaluate current and future processes and strategies. Identify and recommend suggested action steps based on analytic results to ensure project effectiveness.
  • Ensure programs and strategies are enabling key partners to deliver against key engagement, culture and talent performance indicators and goals.
  • Support the cultural transformation of the practice at CTS and the hospitals with the internalization of the Five Principles, the Associate Concept and Mars cultural attributes, diagnosing gaps and opportunities, developing, and deploying tools, experiences, training and policies that support the desired future state.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time. 
  • Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.
  • Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
  • Environment where pets are present.

Experience, Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or Business Administration is required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • SHRM Certified Professional is preferred.
  • Five years of partnering to drive organizational change, culture shift, associate, and organizational development effectiveness are required.
  • Experience managing programs including timelines, communications, deliverables etc. is required.
  • Experience creating impactful presentations is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Training execution and facilitation skills are preferred.
