Currently, BAE Systems is seeking skilled Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Systems Engineers of varying levels to support a government customer. The VDI System Engineers are responsible for architecting, planning and implementing the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure design of systems hardware and software. These individuals work together to ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures are designed to adhere to organizational values, mission requirements and enabling mission success. Selected, qualified Candidates will develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity as well as provide requirements analysis, system and system of system architectures. Clear communication skills will be paramount as personnel will be required to provide guidance on optimization of desktops for platform interoperability and act as liaison between central technologies and endpoint support teams on issues and tasks. Personnel will interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations. In addition to architecting and designing, the VDI Engineer will provide TIER 3/4 support to system administrators in order to resolve VDI issues.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Qualified candidates must have a current and active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a polygraph
