Overview

JOB SUMMARY:  Provides linen supplies to all departments per instructions.  Maintains clean work area.  Organizes, distributes, and loads scrubs machines per instruction.  Collection and management of soiled linen.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or GED General Studies preferred.

REPORTS TO:  Program Manager II 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: N/A

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  1. Participates in the unloading, separating, and storing of clean linen in distribution and assists in other areas as time permits.
  2. Responsible for distribution of proper amounts of the linen to the required areas as needed and on a timely basis.
  3. Communicates all relevant information to the Manager in a timely manner.
  4. Maintains proper sanitary practices in the handling of linen.
  5. Maintains harmonious working relationships with co-workers and hospital staff.
  6. Upholds a professional working relationship at all times and adheres to department rules.  Practices teamwork and adheres to Standards of Behavior.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
  8. Meets or exceeds patient and employee safety requirements while promoting and achieving quality outcomes.
  9. Takes ownership for goals and outcomes; effectively and efficiently uses available resources to successfully complete tasks.
  10. Works with others respectfully and openly; provides help to achieve shared goals.
  11. Identifies opportunities and takes action to continuously improve processes.  Maintains effectiveness and flexibility during change.
  12. Uses appropriate methods to clearly convey information to others in an engaging way, which helps others understand and retain.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:  Ability to read, write, and follow directions.  Working knowledge of sanitation codes.  Ability to push carts up to 80 pounds.  Ability to handle multiple priorities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Occupational exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.
