Overview

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Wake Forest School of Medicine invites applications to fill a tenure track faculty position with an individual studying viral pathogens relevant to human disease. While all areas of focus will be considered, we are particularly seeking individuals studying interactions between viruses and the microbiota, BSL-3 pathogens, and viruses harnessed for therapeutic applications such as oncolytic viruses, gene therapy, and vaccine vectors. The department is highly committed to promoting diversity across trainees, staff, and faculty.

Candidates should hold a PhD, MD or equivalent degree and have a current appointment as an established Assistant or Associate Professor. In addition to maintaining a robust internationally recognized research program, successful candidates will be expected to contribute to departmental teaching and mentoring of graduate students and to support an inclusive culture that welcomes diversity of experience and thought. Start-up package, laboratory space, salary and rank will be commensurate with experience.

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology has a highly collaborative, research intensive faculty that crosses the disciplines of immunology, virology, bacteriology, and cancer.
