The Senior Manager, Global Health Economics and Reimbursement (HE&R) will be responsible for supporting the company's global health economics, reimbursement, and market access strategy. This role will collaborate closely with the VP HE&R, Senior Leadership, Marketing team members, Sales, R&D, and Clinical/Scientific Affairs teams to understand reimbursement needs and develop initiatives to ensure adequate coverage and payment through the life cycle of products. Other support responsibilities may include leading direct payor advocacy strategies, field reimbursement and value analysis support, reimbursement filings, evidence planning, and health economic tools.


The Senior Manager, Global HE&R will represent AtriCure HE&R with major cross-functional teams at the franchise level and will drive reimbursement and market access strategies; and include the following:

  • Work closely with assigned franchise business leaders and sales leasers to develop market access strategies for therapy adoption (i.e., epicardial/endocardial AFib ablation, post procedure pain mgmt., etc.)
  • Represent HE&R - on new product development activities, including reimbursement assessments or internal clinical trial inputs and evidence needs
  • Represent HE&R at senior management meetings as needed
  • Lead payor advocacy for new technologies, including case denial support (3rd party sales hotline) and direct payor advocacy efforts, including supporting customers at face to face plan meetings
  • Develop new payor reimbursement applications, including US commercial plans, CMS, CPT, and OUS geographies (Europe, Asia-Pacific)
  • Partner closely with US sales organization, including HE&R training for regional and national sales meetings, new sales representative training
  • Assess and develop material for hospital value analysis committees, slides, GPO/IDN, and other value purchasers
  • Work with VP HE&R to develop economic sales tools, including financial models, coding guides, calculators, and other sales collateral
  • Manage and identify vendors for evidence development builds (retrospective claims analysis, health economic models, etc.) to support market access strategies
  • Support policy efforts through participation in specialty society and trade organization work groups

  • Bachelor Science in relevant field
  • Minimum of 10 years proven experience in a HE&R role, preferably for a Medical Device company, including leadership position
  • Experience in working closely with global sales and marketing commercial teams, including ability to influence cross functionally
  • Expertise in managing projects with external consulting organizations


  • Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, electrophysiology, and arrhythmias
  • Understanding of CPT process and coverage policy development
  • Prior experience working with GPO/IDN or hospital value analysis committees
  • Experience working with administrative data sets
  • Documented examples of working with sales and commercial organization


  • 25-30% travel possibility
