Summary:

 

Supervises Terminal Operators on maintenance, repairs, ship unloading, and bulk loading for the East and West terminals. Works under the direction of the Assistant Operations Manager and from general policies and objectives. 

 

What you'll be contributing:

 

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines. 
  • Request parts and tools needed for maintenance activities
  • Support hourly employees on daily operation and maintenance activities
  • Perform safety observations
  • Train employees on best practices for ship unloading, truck loading, cement transfer, and safe work practices
  • Interact with sales office on delivered load and customer trucking activities and lead bulk loaders on implementation of same
  • Take direction from the Assistant Operations Manager and Terminal Operations Supervisor
  • Ensure daily work orders are completed properly and efficiently
  • Perform ship unloading, bulk loading, and cement transfer duties as needed
  • Keep daily logs updated as well as, work orders, sign off sheets, safety assessments, and any other paperwork requested.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

To succeed in this position, you will need:

 

  • High School diploma or GED (Required)
  • Associate Degree (Preferred)
  • minimum of 5 years of experience working in a terminal setting. Front-line supervisory experience is desired.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc 
  • Familiar with MSHA/OSHA regulations, safe work practices and hazard recognition
  • Knowledge of workplace rules and regulations enforcement
  • Familiar with terminal processing equipment such as ship unloaders, belt conveyors, bucket elevators, air slides and gates, truck loading equipment, silos, and domes.
  • Familiar with mobile fleet operating practices and maintenance on front end loaders, street sweepers, fork lifts, and track mobiles.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic communication systems as well as software used in the truck loading, ship unloading, and billing systems.
  • Knowledge of cutting torch basics, lubricants, plumbing, electrical basics, machine shop equipment, torque wrenches, proper tool use, and a good working knowledge of processes
