Summary: 

 

The Electrical Supervisor schedules, coordinates, and assigns duties for plant electrical maintenance and repair work. This position monitors the progress and performance of electrical maintenance workers. The position provides supervision to electrical maintenance employees and contractors.

 

What you'll be contributing: 

 

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines. 
  • Generates, receives, and reviews work orders for electrical maintenance.
  • Schedules assigns, and communicates electrical maintenance and repair jobs while minimizing equipment downtime.
  • Collaborates with other staff regarding preventive maintenance and troubleshooting problems with major electrical equipment.
  • Supervises and monitors work performance of electrical maintenance workers, ensures that required material and equipment are available, work is performed properly, and complies with safety standards.
  • Ensures materials and equipment are ordered and remain in stock for projects.
  • Discusses anticipated projects with contractors, and collaborates with department supervisors about upcoming new equipment installations and major repairs.
  • Assists with organizing and providing instructions for the installation of new equipment or the modification of existing equipment.
  • Provides associated drawings and writes programmable logic controller (PLC) programs.
  • Reviews/prepares paperwork concerning timekeeping for the electrical maintenance workers, closing paperwork for work orders, and preparing reports.
  • Assists in training electricians performing work pertaining to electrical maintenance.
  • Plans electrical trade time and parts.
  • Ensures that activities regarding the maintenance and calibration of process instrumentation are properly conducted.
  • Coordinates writes and reviews standard operating procedure (SOP) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) related to department tasks
  • Attends/participates in annual good combustion practice training
  • Responsible for updating, monitoring and completing assigned Environmental Health and Safety Tasks.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor 

 

To succeed in this position, you will need: 

 

  • Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. 

  • Minimum 2-year degree in electrical or related subject matter

  • In lieu of a degree/diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in related work. Education classes in related areas may substitute for some of the required years of experience.
