As a Management Analyst 2 you will works with DAAS leadership, managers, and line staff reviewing and analyzing new and existing processes, procedures, practices and operations to develop the most effective, efficient and standardized work processes. In-state travel to attends meetings and trainings as required

This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona ( occasional in-person attendance at the worksite location for mandatory meetings, trainings, etc. may be required at 1789 W. Jefferson Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85007 ).

Job Duties:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Collect data, research, analyze and evaluate existing and proposed processes related to organization efficiency and process work-flow.
• Develop, redesign and recommend standard processes and work-flow applicable to each process.
• Ensure all processes are organized, maintained, and housed in a standardized format.
• Conduct Gemba walks with supervisors and staff to gather information and map out current processes to identify gaps on the theory of how the process is supposed to work and how it actually works.
• Gather information, suggestions and ideas from staff on ways to improve the process.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
• Performance improvement methodologies and practices
• Operational/programmatic structures, rules, regulations, standards, policies, procedures, resources and priorities
• Client and service delivery systems and statewide community resources
• Problem solving methodologies and principles, inclusive of facilitation, problem definition, root cause analysis, countermeasure development and deployment, and check and adjust (e.g., PDCA, A3, DMAIC, etc...)

Skills in:
• Organization, time management and evaluating projects
• Motivating groups toward common goals
• Oral and written communication

Ability to:
• Exercise independent judgment
• Manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
• Write clear, concise and accurate reports

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• One year of management analysis exp in human services OR
• 3 years of exp working in human services
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree substitutes for 1 or 2 years of the required experience respectively, but will not substitute for the management analysis exp.

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
