DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Community Outreach Manager. This serves as a vital role for the Office of the Director. This position is responsible for achieving the agency's strategic goal of collaborating with communities and members to effectively partner, collaborate and engage with existing systems of care for those served by DES. This position provides leadership for the development and coordination of the Agency's community efforts to include community initiatives, support of Arizona's community networks, community partners, community support services, resource navigation, initiatives/events, panels, councils and various stakeholder events. Travel will be an essential function of this role. There will be continual review and input in the agency's efforts relating to community engagement for the purpose of efficiency and effectiveness. This role is vital to assisting in the course of action to prepare comprehensive recommendations regarding community development and involvement and other relevant issues. It will serve as an agency liaison for community organizations and associations focused on DES related issues.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Direct, manage and supervise professional staff that are responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating all aspects of community initiatives and activities to include: Community engagement, DES program education, engagement and strategic planning. Travel will be an essential function of this role.
• Establish leadership development initiatives for community organizations, associations, networks, agencies and other caring communities focused on the programmatic mission of DES. Prepares reports and documents as needed and requested. Attends regular meetings, provides trainings, and education on any team improvements.
• Evaluate all activities relating to the Agency's community support services to include: resource navigation, events/initiatives, community informational forums etc. Attends and speaks at community events to provide education and awareness.
• Collaborate with community leaders to identify potential avenues for expanding and cultivating new effectiveness and efficiently of the agency as a whole. Provide clear, concise and consistent documentation in accordance with established guidelines aligned with policies and procedures.
• Utilize a social-ecological framework by working collaboratively as a team, while strengthening resources, support to improve service deliverable with DES clients, leadership and stakeholders.

Selective Preference(s):

This ideal candidate for this position will have:
• Strong Outreach work, public speaking. Minimum bachelor's degree or master's preferred.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• In-state travel is required. Driver's License Requirements Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
• Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
