
Description
The Regional Operations Manager for Rubber Shops is responsible for overseeing the operational performance of multiple Rubber Shops, ensuring optimal efficiency, quality, and profitability. This role will lead initiatives aimed at driving operational excellence, improving inventory management, enhancing customer satisfaction, and supporting continuous process improvement. The manager will collaborate with shop teams to execute strategic objectives, provide training, and uphold quality standards while ensuring alignment with company policies and business goals.
Operational Oversight:
- Evaluate and monitor all aspects of Rubber Shop operations, including inventory management, production order accuracy, accounts receivable, freight expenses, and other SD&A functions to drive cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Continuous Improvement:
- Actively participate in the company's Total Quality Management (TQM) process.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by leading initiatives aimed at reducing costs, improving cycle times, increasing sales and gross profit, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Training & Development:
- Partner with Shop Managers to provide training, guidance, and support in implementing operational best practices and ensuring the effective use of systems such as SAP and Shop Sales Functions.
- Drive the development and growth of associates through on-the-job training and participation in relevant external education, seminars, and certifications.
Inventory & Receivables Management:
- Take ownership of inventory control and receivable management processes.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and effective management of financial transactions, addressing discrepancies as needed and maintaining proper authorization protocols.
Quality Control & Compliance:
- Conduct audits as needed, including internal and operational quality audits, scrap reviews, and compliance assessments.
- Champion efforts to achieve higher levels of quality standards within the Rubber Shops, leading teams in evaluating and monitoring quality progression and continuous improvement (CI) projects.
Customer & Account Relations:
- Support shop teams in resolving service and quality issues by conducting joint calls on key accounts.
- Ensure that customer feedback and concerns are addressed promptly to maintain strong relationships and uphold service excellence.
Strategic Planning & Budgeting:
- Assist in preparing and monitoring the annual operating budget for the region.
- Work collaboratively with leadership to set and achieve operational goals, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and develop shop associates by fostering a supportive, growth-oriented environment.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, values, and the Code of Business Ethics.
- Promote open communication, define job roles, and maintain clarity on expectations for all team members.
Reporting & Presentations:
- Prepare and present reports, updates, and performance metrics as needed for senior leadership.
- Assist with other operational initiatives as directed, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and goals.
Education & Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Operations, or equivalent Operations Management experience.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operations management, with a strong background in inventory control, process improvement, and team leadership within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with industrial automation or conveyor systems.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and other industry-specific software.
