Job Posting: Calibration Technician II
Location: Raleigh, NC
Travel: Up to 50% as required
Position Overview:
The Calibration Technician II is responsible for performing calibrations, qualifications, and preventive maintenance with minimal supervision. This role requires a broader understanding of instrumentation and regulatory compliance, with increased client interaction. Technicians at this level will also begin developing leadership skills and will support the business by identifying new opportunities during client interactions. The role involves travel to client sites and requires attention to detail and a commitment to safety and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete calibrations, qualifications, and PMs with accurate GxP documentation, following PCI and client policies.
- Perform flow, conductivity, pH, mass, and dimensional calibrations with guidance.
- Identify new business opportunities and relay leads to leadership.
- Assist in the handling and maintenance of PCI and client-owned equipment.
- Develop client relationships and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain safety standards on-site and identify potential safety issues.
- Complete timesheets and assist others with proper coding.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Expanded understanding of calibration concepts, accuracy testing, and uncertainty ratios.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs.
- Strong understanding of GMP and Life Science regulations.
- Experience with a variety of laboratory equipment (incubators, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
Education & Experience:
- A two-year degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- Two years of applicable calibration, instrumentation, or metrology experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Quality System/Pharmaceutical experience preferred.
