Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/an Field Service Manager.
Reporting to the Director, Field Applications the Field Service Manager is responsible to manages all Field service technicians and works with the Customer support group on scheduling, planning, and coordinating field service Technicians and Field Support groups as we design, assemble, install, and service power distribution equipment in compliance with applicable standards.
What a typical day looks like:
- Plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of field services to continually improve operational planning and processes to install and service electrical distribution equipment in accordance with cost, quality, safety, and quantity specifications. May require responding to issues during non-work hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Reviews field service schedules as part of planning for future and ongoing projects to make decisions concerning staffing requirements, work procedures, or assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
- Plans and establish work schedules, assignments, establishes scopes, and priorities to meet goals and to improve department efficiency and utilization. Maintains startup procedures and updating them as needed for accuracy and completeness.
- Completes meetings to review safety, quality and production issues with their teams.
- Manage and develop field service personnel through appropriate internal/external training, involvement, delegation and regular reviews of performance.
- Develop and lead the field service teams using expertise and developing high-performance behaviors, identifying technical/resource requirements and proposing solutions to rectify.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate production with business systems or processes and resolving issues that may impact the organization.
- Work with field service team to resolve problems concerning design, adherence to specifications and/or required standards, and related issues.
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to all corporate, external and appropriate regulatory requirements.
- Work with our suppliers to ensure conformity to our technical/system standards as needed.
- Monitor end-to-end processes, identifying opportunities where operations can help improve product quality from an assembly and systems perspective, providing a feed-back loop to other departments/locations.
- Work with Engineering/PM's to provide MOP's for site work when required.
- Review and approve Tech's monthly expense reports.
- Based on these opportunities implement continuous improvement projects to a validated conclusion.
- Proactively works to eliminate waste and adds value to all processes.
- Ensures assigned employees adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and perform work practices that are safe and in a clean work environment.
- Ensures assigned employees adhere to company policies and rules, and, when necessary, enact necessary discipline processes up to and including written warnings in conjunction with supervision and Human Resources. Also provides further support and participation when escalation is required.

The experience we're looking to add to our team,
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and the equivalent of 3 - 5 years' experience working in power distribution industry and/or service environment with demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in engineering operations or High School Education or GED and equivalent of 5 - 8 years of practical work experience. Power distribution experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of principles and process for providing supervision and leadership with considerable experience supervising, managing and motivating employees in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong technical and understanding of power distribution equipment and related standards.
- Familiarity with the development and implementation of work instructions.
- Proven ability to work on own initiative, problem solve and present potential solutions.
- A clear focus, understanding and desire to drive improvement across Safety, Quality and Production.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
