Job Summary

General Purpose:

In charge of performing the physical or combined administrative/physical tasks involved in the storing, counting and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Compiles and maintains records of quantity, cost and type of material stocked and issued, and prepares material requisitions.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Ensuring a continuous removal of scrap, trash, and recyclable materials from the production lines.
  • Responds to service calls and in-house repairs throughout the facility.
  • Providing the specified workstations with sufficient quantities of approved scarp bins with locks.
  • Maintaining a continuous flow of materials to the specified production lines.
  • Uses the approved facilities scrap, trash, and recyclable's location map and times for pickup.
  • Processes RED Tag items for SCRAP
  • Compiles and maintains inventory of SCRAP that is weighed and processed into the approved trailer.
  • Maintaining order in the facility at the predetermined pickup locations.
  • Providing immediate information on any scrap, trash, and recyclable pickup and drop off times. 
  • Collect and dispose of waste in accordance with environmental regulations.
  • Attend the training courses required for his/her group or classification
  • Take inventory of stored items through cycle counting.

Education/Experience:

Completion of secondary school, vocational training or equivalent is preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

May require ability to read and apply color-coding and schematics; component prepping, inspect components; operate telephones, data entry equipment, spreadsheet software; MRP system, electronic scales, pallet jack, staple gun, cycle counting, kitting. 
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Typically requires addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills.
Supply, move material to production line, make inquiries in inventory systems. Performs cyclic counts of materials in production floor and returns material in system.

Low impact, limited to the specific work area.

Decision Making / Discretion:

Limited expectations to make resolutions outside of immediate work assignments. Resolutions only affect unipersonal tasks.

Supervision / Leadership:

Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and work that requires repetitive motion.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; handle small components; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
