 Technical Project Management

 

Essential Functions

The candidate must demonstrate strong motivation, flexibility and a proven record of meeting aggressive deadlines, working with demanding customers as well as the ability to work as part of global cross functional team. This role will include working with global functional teams that architect, design, develop, and support CPU, APU and dGPU diagnostics, debug and validation tools for internal AMD silicon and platform teams and NDA customers to establish schedules, mitigate risk, manage progress, and report status. In this capacity the candidate is expected to work with teams across the company that ensure dependency deliverables are met so that the functional teams work is not blocked or delayed. Depending on the scope/size of the program assignment the role may include managing more than one program at any given time.

 

Education and Experience

  • BS or MS required. BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Bachelor degree with hands on commercial software program management, project planning, and prior leadership experience required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skill, technical leadership and teamwork required.
  • Solid knowledge of the software development lifecycle required and agile development methodologies.
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Experience working with off-shore teams and customers preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with design team, internal users, and customers to understand and define the diagnostic, debug and validation tool software requirements.
  • Work with functional technical leads to investigate project roadmaps and product technical documentation to understand software impact. Translate these requirements/impacts into executable plans.
  • Manage development plans to deliver on time and manage customer driven change requests and/or found tasks without impacting critical committed deliverables.
  • Report program status to functional and program level teams.
  • Accountable on time delivery of deliverables.
